16. ESS, European Spallatation Source is a European neutron-research project to 2-3 billion EURO. It is at present build Lund in Southern Sweden. Management has from the beginning chosen to use the Successive principle. One of the major sub-projects are the "Neutron-gun", which will be the world's strongest. The project manager for this sub-project, Mats Lindroos, also uses the Successive principle. He says that it has been an "eye-opener" for him in the start-up of the initial planning and, not least, the proactive Risk Management function with its focus on the positive possibilities.
